Yearly Celebration of Buhe By Renown Ethiopian Artists

Ethiopian Christians celebrate the Buhe Festival, a series of religious rituals and cultural events, as a way of remembering the transfiguration of Jesus Christ at Mount Tabor.

Thousands of Christians, prominent government figures, including the Industry Minister Melaku Alebel, entertainers, and guests are present for the celebration in Debre Tabor Town, South Gondar Zone, in Mount Tabor of Ethiopia. For the Buhe festival, which is on August 19, youths dress in colorful attire. Elders reward them with gifts and money when they knock on doors while beating drums and singing traditional and religious songs.
