A 91-year-old woman who had been carrying a fetus for more than 60 years made the discovery. After a fall-related x-ray, doctors told 91-year-old Estela Melendez of the Chilean community of La Boca the awful news. Doctors in Chile who were treating a 91-year-old woman for a possible tumor were shocked to learn that she had been carrying a fetus in her womb for more than 60 years. Estela Melendez asserted that she was ignorant of her prior pregnancies. Medical personnel in the village of La Boca discovered the fetus after seeing something concerning on an x-ray. She can use the calcified remains, which have been in her uterus for more than 60 years. She now views the bulge, nonetheless, as a symbol of the kid she and her husband yearned for. The fetus was to be removed surgically, but doctors thought it would be riskier to operate on her than to leave it in her womb. Due to their belief that doing so would be more detrimental to the 91-year-old patient’s health than the pregnancy itself, doctors are unable to remove the fetus. For Melendez, the bulge on her stomach will act as a constant reminder of her spouse and their shared desire to have children for the time being.
