Teacher And Radio Show Host Abiy Yilma Speaks About Alemayehu Tadesse
Tilahun Gessesse passed away on April 19, 2009, having been born in Addis Abeba on September 29, 1940. The child of Woizero Gete Gurmu and Ato Gessesse Negussee is named Tilahun. When he was fourteen, his grandfather drove him to Waliso Oromia, where he enrolled at Ras Gobena Elementary School. Although his grandfather advised him to focus on his academic pursuits, his love in music became more apparent with time.
Tilahun’s love in music was supported by the Sudanese principal of Ras Gobena School, Mr. Shedad, who urged him to move there to pursue a career in music.Tilahun took Mr. Shedad’s counsel very seriously despite not traveling to Sudan. Tilahun seized the chance to talk to Ato Eyoel about his interest in music when Woizro Negatwa Kelkai, Ato Eyoel Yohanes, and other performers from the Hager Fikir Theatre visited his school to perform.
If he desired to pursue a career in the field, it was advised that he travel to Addis Abeba. Without the permission of his grandfather, Tilahun started his trek to Addis Abeba on foot after quitting school.
Tilahun’s great-aunt in Tulu Bolo was notified by his grandfather that Tilahun was no longer in Woliso.
After walking fifteen kilometers, Tilahun was apprehended at Tulu Bolo, where he spent the night with his great-aunt Woizero Temene Bantu. He was compelled to see his granddad in Woliso the following day.
