Legendary Singer And Song Writer Abdu Kiyar Crying Over His Own Song
Abdu Kiar is a rapper and singer from Ethiopia. With the release of his debut album, Merkato Sefere, in 2003, he rose to fame. Hip-hop is one of the musical genres that has impacted Kiar. Father Kiar Kahssay and mother Wuba Siraj welcomed Abdu Kiar into the world on June 23, 1976 in Addis Mercato, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.
He is the youngest of the family’s seven kids. He joined the express music band in 1997 right out of high school and began playing dancehall, hip hop, and reggae in neighborhood nightclubs and coffee shops. Abdu traveled to Saudi Arabia in 1998 and found employment as a salesperson in a clothing shop in Jeddah.
Abdu Kiar entered the Ethiopian music scene in 2003 with the Merkato Sefere album, which was his debut. Fikir Bamaregna (2006) and Minew Shewa (2009) are two more albums that Abdu has recorded.After taking some time off to complete his education, Abdu returned with his fourth studio album, Tikur Anbessa (Black Lion).
This album took two years to complete and was released in October 2015. Abdu also provided a song to aid with HIV education in Ethiopia. Abdu Kiar sings his songs for Ethiopians all over the world while on a world tour of various locations. He and Melat Kelemework recorded the duet “Weye Weye” in 2021. The song gained popularity on TikTok.
