What constitutes a woman as beautiful and seductive has evolved over time. In ancient times, a woman’s value or attractiveness was largely based on her capacity to bear children. Men have historically used outside clues to judge a woman’s fecundity and health because ovulation cannot be seen with the unaided eye.
Wider, “child-bearing” hips were considered to be more attractive in women. The art of the Baroque era is a good example of this preoccupation with the curvy feminine. German-born Flemish Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) advocated for an exuberant Baroque style that put a focus on movement, color, and sensuality.
He became well-known for his love of depicting curvy, full-figured women, which led to the term “Rubenesque” being used to describe plus-sized women. The more curvy, full-figured woman painted by Rubens was formerly considered beautiful, but through time, people came to value the smaller-framed, skinny female.
Particularly in Western cultures, slimness became idealized and connected to grace, attractiveness, self-control, and youth. In the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, fashion publications memorialized these women. But it appears that there has recently been a resurgence of interest in women with a more natural and curvy physique.
Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian, among others, are popular music and television figures who have revived the notion that attractive women tend to be curvier in appearance. An attractive lady now has a round bottom, curved hips, and thighs, which are symbols of real femininity.
The hip’s developmental dysplasia (DDH) is the most prevalent anatomical abnormality in neonates. Incidences of DDH, the most prevalent orthopaedic condition in infants, range from 4.4% to 51.8%, depending on risk factors, populations, and reporting methods. Traditionally, the normal physical exam for newborns involves the Barlow and Ortolani techniques.If either is positive by the pediatrician, the baby is then sent for review by a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon.
The physician or pediatric orthopaedic surgeon orders an ultrasound at this point, which is the definitive method for diagnosing DDH. Lack of early detection and treatment can have serious effects on a person’s health and have financial and public health repercussions for society as a whole.
It is obvious that a curvaceous female figure rather than a straight female figure is still crucial in recognizing an appealing female form, even though the quantity of total fat that determines a maximally attractive female can change from society to society and between time periods.
