According to the Addis Abeba City Administration, 18,930 homes will be included in the 20/80 lottery draw and 6,843 homes will be included in the 40/80 lottery. There will be a total of 25,791 properties up for grabs, including 300 three-bedroom 20/80 units that created controversy by being left out of the previous lottery draw.
By November 21, 2014, 146,892 persons would have sufficient savings.
300 three-bedroom residences will be up for grabs in the lottery for 2005 registrations.
To be eligible for the lottery draw, participants must have saved up 60 months’ worth of payments for 20/80 one- and two-bedroom condominium flats. For 2005 three-bedroom flats, registrants are needed to save 60 months’ worth of payments.
Up until Yekatit 21, 2014, those that saved 40% or more will be eligible for the 40/60 lottery draw.
There will be 93,352 participants in the 20/80 lottery draw and 53,540 in the 40/60 program.
